👉 This allows you to customise the roof finish to match your home. We always recommend using a professional installer, as fitting heavy canopies requires the right tools and building knowledge.
What Do You Need For Installation?
For installation, you would need to purchase some additional materials:
Roof covering of your choice (tiles, slates, or felt shingles depending on your preference and what matches your property)
Breathable membrane or roofing underlay (if using tiles/slates)
Battens (to fix tiles/slates onto)
Fixings (screws/bolts suitable for your wall type – brick, stone, or block)
Sealant or flashing (to ensure a watertight finish where the canopy meets the wall)
Tools you’ll likely need:
Power drill and masonry drill bits
Screwdriver or impact driver
Hammer
Tape measure and spirit level
Spanner or socket set (for bolts)
Hand saw or circular saw (if battens need trimming)
Ladder/step ladder for safe access
Please note: we always recommend having a professional installer fit the canopy. Fixing heavy items like this onto a wall may require specific building knowledge and experience to ensure a safe and secure installation.
For the best long-term results, we always recommend applying a protective paint or finish to the canopy once installed. This seals the timber, enhances its weather resistance, and keeps it looking great for years to come.
